Our Doulas

Adrienne Wetherell, CD(DONA)

Adrienne is a birth & postpartum doula, yoga teacher, and proud mama. As a doula, she draws on her practice of yoga and mindfulness, as well as her life experiences to support expectant mothers through the transformative process of birth. She feels honored to be able to work with families during such a life-changing time. Adrienne received her doula certification under the mentorship of Crescence Krueger from Heart of  Birth, and with DONA International.

A yoga teacher since 2005, Adrienne is passionate about making the practice a safe and nourishing experience for her students. Adrienne’s prenatal and postnatal yoga classes explore the powerful relationship between yoga, birth and parenthood, and aim to support the development of a healthy parent-baby bond. She completed prenatal and postnatal yoga training with Monica Voss, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga training with David Emerson and Bessel van der Kolk, and Mindful Motherhood facilitator training through the Institute of Noetic Sciences with Cassandra Vieten, PhD.

In September 2013, Adrienne gave birth to her breech baby Ava and has since been blessed by the many joys and challenges of motherhood.

I was first introduced to doula work when I began working at a wellness facility specialized in prenatal and postnatal health. I felt that birth work aligned perfectly with my nurturing and intuitive personality and my background in health care equity and advocacy. I am passionate about supporting the plurality of preferences and approaches to care throughout pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.  My doula support is grounded in evidence-based practices that are tailored to fit the individual needs of a person and a trust in myself and those I work with to create a supportive and empowering space.  Being a doula allows me to do fulfilling work that I love and I feel grateful to share in such beautiful and transformative moments.

Lorraine Marie Leslie

I am a mindful mother of one and a birth & postpartum doula. After having my daughter a little over three years ago, I felt drawn to the idea of empowering others and supporting their birth choices through birth work. As an empath who is warm and caring, becoming a doula and supporting expecting families is something that really connects with who I am. I know from my own experience that having the resources to plan your birth and postpartum period, your way, has real value and truly sets the foundation for your parenting journey. I am here to hold space and help new parents navigate their own path from prenatal through to birth and postpartum.

“It is difficult to adequately put into words how much of a positive impact it was to have both Emily and Adrienne as our doula support team. We met Emily first and she notified us that her partner Adrienne would be an additional support doula. We met Adrienne shortly thereafter and were very pleased. Having both Emily and Adrienne was a dream situation as we received double the support, information, and assistance. Having Adrienne at our birth was a fantastic experience not only for myself, but for my partner as well. Adrienne’s calm voice and demeanour, her support and unwavering care during my labour will forever be etched into my memory. As I did not want any medical interventions during labour, having Adrienne there to guide me through the ins and outs of an un-medicated hospital birth made all the difference. My partner felt supported and confident in his abilities to support me because of Adrienne’s presence at the labour. Further, Adrienne took the most beautiful photos of my son’s birth, photos my partner and I will cherish forever. I would make the decision to hire Emily and Adrienne 100 times over as I experienced my first labour in the most supportive and positive way, and I attribute that to having both Adrienne and Emily as our doula support team.” – Sara, Boris & baby Alvaro
